  • Traversy Media Java content — outdated; Brad focuses on frontend now.

  • Programming with Mosh Java — beginner-only, ends before generics.

  • Derek Banas — outdated (last relevant Java content pre-2020).

  • Any channel where the thumbnail is a shocked face + red arrow — content quality inversely proportional to thumbnail drama.

The Anti-Pattern

Do not watch 8-hour Udemy playlists at 1.5x speed and check “learned Java” off a list. You will retain <10%. Video is background reinforcement. Books, drills, and shipping code are foreground learning.

India-Specific Note

Kunal Kushwaha and Telusko have the strongest Indian-audience DSA / Java offerings. Both are free. Kunal’s DSA Bootcamp playlist is often recommended in r/developersIndia. Watch it if college DSA is fully rusted; skip if you’re solid.
